Moms night out and limited picture options

Tonight I went to dinner with a group of Utah triplet moms. I love meeting with them because well for one thing they are all just nice people. Also they are a great resource as many of them have triplets older than the boys. Tonight’s dinner were included moms with triplets 18 weeks gestation and up. The dinners have been every other month and something I really look forward too.
I’m not sure if the next get together is moms only or another family picnic. Either way I’m sure it will be a great time.

So without the laptop I really have only one way to post pictures of the boys. It looks like the only way I can post current photos is from my camera phone. It’s a great way to test out the camera on my new cell phone.

9 Month well baby visit

Yesterday afternoon we took the boys in for their 9 month check up. They really have grown.

Andrew is now 19 lbs 2 oz and 28.5 inches long.
Parker is also 19 lbs 2 oz and is 28.25 inches long.
Nicholas is 18 lbs and 27.75 inches long.

Cody and I were happy to see that Nicholas is closing the gap between him and Andrew and Parker. The boys are now officially all off reflux meds. Everyone was given a clean bill of health and our pediatrician was very happy with how well the boys are doing. The boys were great for the appointment, no one even batted an eye when they took some blood to check for anemia.

9 Months old

This weekends the boys turned 9 months old. I keep saying this, but I can’t believe how quickly time has passed. In the last month all of the boys have started to call Cody Dada and just starting to get the occasional daddy. Still no hints of mama though.

The boys have their 9 month check up this Friday. I can’t wait to find out how much they’ve grown. We are also planning to do the boys monthly photo shoot this week. I’m really looking forward to these pictures. Over the weekend my mom gave me the rocking chair I had as an infant for the boys. They are just big enough to sit up in it.

It will take a while to get pictures posted as Cody’s laptop had to be sent in for warranty repairs, but I’ll share them when I can.

Laughfest

Cody discovered the feeding table is great for more than just feeding. We’ve both used it to read to the boys, but this is by far the most fun we’ve had with it.

A little Disney

It’s been almost a year and a half since we’ve visited a Disney park. To say we are big Disney fans is putting it mildly. Cody and I are both going through withdrawals. Since going to Disney World or land isn’t really an option right now, I’ve been enjoying Cody’s photos from our previous trips. We are hoping to take the boys to Disneyland in the fall, in the mean time I’ll still be looking at the pictures longingly. Luckily he has taken lots and lots of pictures, here are a few personal favorites.

The hat

We do have pictures with us in them, but I love the detail and imagery of the parks.

The play room

Here is the boys play room and an example of the way the boys tend to clump together around the same toy even though there is plenty of space to spread out. While they seem to stick together, they are a traveling group flinging toys everywhere.

(Parker, Nicholas, Andrew)

We still need to do some redecorating. We’d like to repaint the 3 walls in the play area to a brighter more kid friendly color and we’ll be taking down and replacing the mirror and wall hangings. The gate is a KidCo Elongate with four extensions to span the 12 feet of the front room. I love the foam floor tiles, since I spend a fair amount of time sitting, kneeling or crawling around with the boys the half inch of padding makes it much more comfortable.

So much change

I was looking through older pictures tonight and it’s amazing just how much has changed and how much the boys have grown.

From feeding everyone at once when the boys first came home to feedings now.

(Andrew, Parker, Nicholas) Look they are smaller than their boppys.

(Nicholas, Parker, Andrew) I know I used this recently, but wow such a drastic change.

You never can tell

We’ve bought quite a few toys thinking the boys may like them or be entertained by them for a little while. It’s funny how toys you would never think would be much fun turn out to be the most contested. We bought a crib mirror (just one to see if they liked mirrors) and at first no one was really interested. Now the boys end up playing tug of war with it. It seems one of best things to do is lay on your back and hold the mirror over you. They could talk to themselves for hours, if only the mirror wasn’t so sought after by everyone.

Parker when the mirror was still only interesting because it had straps to chew on.

Andrew scoots

Yesterday morning we saw Andrew do something for the first time and had the camera on hand to capture it.

In just one day he is already refining his movements and moving faster.  It seems this new skill is mostly being used to chase balls and take toys away from his brothers.
Not to be outdone we’ve seen Parker up on his hands and knees rocking multiple times today. Nicholas is also able to scoot forward, but does so very very slowly.

He’s rocking on the inside

Just seconds before I took this Nicholas was going crazy playing with the ball like it was the tetherball world championship.

Park City

Today we took the boys to Park City to escape the gross air that has settled in the valley. It’s crazy to think that next week the quiet main street will be descended upon by Hollywood for the 2010 Sundance Film Festival. We had a great time walking around and looking in some of the unique shops. We’ve moved the boys to the toddler seats instead of their infant carrier seats in the stroller and they loved being able to look around. For most of the afternoon we had Parker facing Nicholas in the stroller, Parker spent a lot of time talking at Nicholas and trying to reach him to play.
Even though we looked in many many shops, one at a time as the stroller wouldn’t fit in most of the boutiques. Our only purchase was a Christmas tree ornament.

smores
It’s a S’more (the marshmallows are sitting on chocolate and a graham cracker) holding a sock monkey and we just couldn’t pass it up.
As an added bonus it was a pretty good work out walking up and down the giant hill that is Main street. Not to mention being able to take a deep breath and not see the air we were breathing.
A few pictures from today:

(Andrew, Nicholas, Parker)

This better shows the steepness of the street, I’m very spoiled because I pushed the stroller down the hill and Cody pushed it up.

We love our exersaucers

The boys love being in their exersaucers, they never seem to get bored with all the attached toys.

Jammies day

Some days I just don’t seem to get the boys into an outfit, besides who doesn’t like hanging out in their PJs every once in awhile?

(Nicholas, Andrew, Parker)

I really need to get a picture of the playroom with the new foam flooring. We found that the numbers and letters were just too easy to remove on this.

It came! It came!

Last Friday I was super excited that our feeding table was finally going to be delivered and it was, sort of. The table top was delivered. The seats and the legs were shipped separately, but finally arrived this afternoon. While I was at physical therapy, Cody assembled and took it for the first test drive.

He said it was the bestest feeding ever. I’m sorry that I missed its debut, but think it will make tomorrow’s feedings so much easier.

Some additional pictures of the boys enjoying the new seats:

Warm, snuggly and ready to go

(Andrew, Nicholas, Parker)

Saturday afternoon we decided to take the boys for a walk. It gave us a chance to try out their new outerwear. The boys were so good as we walked around, no one fussed. They just enjoyed taking in the sights. This is also a glimpse of our playroom, I’ll need to get a good picture of the whole room.

Boys' first party

Last Friday we took the boys to their first party, our niece turned one. They were able to nap on the hour long drive, so they were awake and happy for the party.

(Nicholas, Parker, Andrew) - I don’t think I’ll be able to hold everyone at the same time for much longer.

The boys are all really good at pushing up on their hands now, Parker used this new skill to try and help with the unwrapping of gifts. He kept pulling one box towards him as the birthday girl was unwrapping from the other end.

As we were packing up to leave I noticed Nicholas and Parker both trying to play with the toy elephant, but they ended up holding hands. It was so cute I had to get a picture.

Nom nom nom

The boys are still putting everything in their mouths, the joys of teething.

Stretch

We’ve notice Parker has a tendency to stretch his arms out to his sides. In his car seat he’ll reach out and hold onto the sides of the handle. Here he’s holding on to his brothers during some Bumbo time.

(Andrew, Parker, Nicholas)

Again reaching out, but this time for new toys.

(Nicholas, Parker)

Just for equal photo time here is Christmas photo of Andrew with his great grandma that I think is just adorable (look at that smile).

What did Santa bring?

Here are all my guys about to go check out what was under the tree. The boys are in their Christmas eve PJs. Putting them in the two piece jammies instead of sleep sacks or footed PJS make them look much more like little boys and not babies.

Who knew?

Who knew that fighting over toys would start so early?

(Parker, Andrew)

Even though the boys have plenty of toys (as you can see spread all over the floor), it seems like the most interesting toy in the room is the one someone else is playing with. I get the feeling that it’ll be this way for many many years.

January 5th

Time seems to be rushing by! It’s one month from today that I return to work. I’ll be returning part time and working when Cody is home to watch the boys. It seems crazy that it’s already been almost a year since I was in the office. It will be nice (I think) to go back to work and still get to spend my days with the boys. I’d hate to miss out on watching the boys change and lately it seems like they learn something new each day. Just yesterday I saw Andrew get up on his hands and knees when he was trying to scoot forward towards a toy.

It’s getting much harder to line the boys up on the floor to take a group picture, they just roll too quickly.

(Andrew, Nicholas, Parker)

While the boys are rolling all over the place, I find it funny that even when we set them down in opposite corners of the room they seem to be magnetically attracted to each other and usually end up piled on top of each other.

(Parker, Nicholas, Andrew)

Of course if a brother isn’t nearby to roll up against we have Leo to stand in. Leo has adopted the boys, he will walk up to them to be pet and is extremely tolerant to their “petting.” Even when he walks away short a handful of hair.

Project 365

I’m a little late to jump on the bandwagon, but I’m going to attempt to post a picture a day. Cody went on a photo processing spree so I’m set for at least a month. Plus I’m going to start taking some pictures in a different format so they won’t require as much if any processing.
A picture for today Parker and Andrew just hanging out in the TV room something that they won’t be doing much of now that we have a nearly completed play room.
