Look at the camera!

As anyone with toddlers can attest getting little ones to look at the camera to have their picture taken is a challenge. As the boys get older and become more interested in going after what they find fun instead of looking at the camera Cody had to come up with a way to get the boys to focus. Introducing his brilliant idea.

Battery powered dancing LED Christmas lights!

The boys of course can’t help but stare at the lights. The first test went pretty well.

Safe to say the experiment was a success. Even when there is something far more fun than looking at the camera it works.

  1. oh my gosh. that is awesome.

we had pics taken of the boys yesterday and she had a stretchy thing with googly eyes around her lens, but LIGHTS! much better!

did the lights not affect the photos, though? it doesn't look like it, but i'm curious.

  2. Because the lights are around the lens none of the light bleeds into the field of view. If it was a darker room I guess we could end up with some interesting reflections in the boys eyes.

  3. To answer your question Pyjammy...it looks like the lights being used aren't strong enough to reflect too far forward and the subject is far enough away not to catch any of the light. The reflection on his hand will not project any further than the lights themselves either. Great way to capture their attention
