This last week we've been trying to get the boys on a more set schedule.
Except for bedtime the times are not set, but I follow the schedule pattern based on when they wake up.
First feeding (between 5:30 am and 6:00 am) back to sleep
3 hours later feed and play until they nod off which is normally around 2 to 2 and a half hours
feed at the 3 hour mark and they go down for a 2 to 2.5 hour nap
feed at 3 hour mark and play until next feeding or until they fall asleep.
feed at 3 hour mark and play till bedtime
We continue to feed every 3 hours. Normally feeding around 8 or 9 and again at 11 or midnight depending on when they wake up for food. I am looking forward to the boys going longer than three hours between feedings. Right now at the 3 hour mark they are lip smacking and showing signs of hunger, by 3 hours and 15 minutes they are freaking out if a bottle isn't in their mouths.
It seems like every couple of days they start eating a little bit more, so it can't be too much longer before we can move to a 4 hour schedule. If the boys fall asleep after a feeding and playing for a bit I let them sleep. So far letting them fall asleep when they want hasn't effected how long they sleep at night. For about one week I tried to keep them awake between feedings. It was a lot of work and I usually unsuccessful.
